Mandar Agashe is India’s leading fintech professional with deep domain knowledge and experience of 30+ years and the Founder and CEO of Sarvatra Technologies Pvt. Ltd. (www.sarvatra.tech), India’s leading provider of fintech and payment platforms like Digital Rupee (CBDC) and UPI (Unified Payments Interface) with 700+ banks, including some of the top Indian banks, as clients.
Mandar led transformative payment innovations and architectures like Sub-member ASP/SaaS model in the country, as a result of which more than 50% of banks in India—spread across 27 States and 3 Union
Territories—were able to join the national payments ecosystem. Currently, over 2.5 Billion transactions per month are processed via Sarvatra’s payments platforms. Sarvatra’s EFT Switch won the Economic
Times BFSI Innovation Tribe Award 2018 in “Technology” category and was awarded “Best Banking Tech” of the year 2019 by IAMAI.
In 2023, under Mandar’s able leadership, Sarvatra was able to give a demo of CBDC and UPI apps to G20 delegates, which included the POTUS. Further strengthening its position as a leading fintech innovator, Sarvatra’s CBDC Platform received the Global FinTech Awards in 2025 under the “FinTech for Good (ESG Champion)” category, the ETBFSI Exceller Awards for “Best IT Software Solution Provider of the Year,” and the CMO Asia Excellence Awards for “Most Innovative FinTech Product.”
Mandar completed his BE (Computer Science) in 1990/91 from PICT, a leading engineering college in Pune, and has been active in the fintech industry for the last three decades. His unique banking technology
invention in 2003, viz. “Apparatus For Conducting Banking Transaction Including Withdrawal And Deposit Of Cash”, has won him a patent in India and in South Africa. He also invented an ID-less transaction system and method in 2013, viz. “A Computer Implemented System And Method For Cashless And Cardless Transactions”, which has won a patent in India.
