Fintech developer gone politician

Elina Valtonen is the Vice President of the center-right National Coalition Party and a Member of Parliament since 2014.

She holds a master's degree in technology and in economics; with majors in computer science, applied mathematics and financial economics.

Prior to entering politics, she worked for 10 years in the financial sector in London and in different Nordic countries in companies such as RBS and Nordea.

She has worked as a developer in the Finnish fintech company Valuatum and did her master's thesis about her neural network program for modeling financial information.

Elina has also invested in Finnish startup companies.
